 Introduction to Sigma Iota Rho


Established in 1983 as an honor society for international study majors, Sigma Iota Rho has chapters at 100 U.S. universities. MIAGE members of Sigma Iota Rho have the opportunity to apply for scholarships, travel grants, research grants and other opportunities.

In order to be a member of Sigma Iota Rho, students must:

  • Complete one semester of graduate level work in international studies.
  • Maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.3 or higher in all courses, and a grade point average of at least 3.4 in international relations courses;
  • Maintain full-time student status to be a voting member or hold office.

Membership also requires a 1 time fee of $45 to Sigma Iota Rho. Interested students can get more information on the Sigma Iota Rho website, or by contacting the MIAGE Program Manager.
